Opera Hedeland 2025: "The Marriage of Figaro" by Mozart
Look forward to a magical evening under the open sky when Opera Hedeland performs Mozart's beloved opera "The Marriage of Figaro" in the summer of 2025.
Mozart’s masterful compositions bring one of opera’s greatest classics to life when “The Marriage of Figaro” is staged under the starry sky on Denmark’s largest outdoor amphiteater.
The performance takes place at Opera Hedeland close to Roskilde, where for more than 20 years, we have performed critically acclaimed operas under the open sky, with one of Denmark’s most beautiful nature parks as a backdrop. Our guests include both opera lovers and those experiencing opera for the first time.
About "The marriage of Figaro"
How much drama can happen in a single day? You will find out as we witness the events at Count Almaviva’s castle in Spain, where the wedding between the Count’s servant, Figaro, and his beloved Susanna takes place.
We follow the wedding preparations of the bride and groom-to-be, which are quickly threatened by Count Almaviva, who plans to seduce Susanna. Therefore, Figaro, Susanna, the Countess, and a string of other interesting characters must do whatever it takes to thwart the Count’s fervent desires.
The music in “The Marriage of Figaro” is known for its complexity and depth, featuring an exuberant overture, tender arias, and intricate ensembles that showcase Mozart’s unique ability to unfold a character’s personality and emotions. The musical phrases highlight both the drama and the humor of librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte’s original text.
The cast will be announced in the winter of 2025.

About Opera Hedeland
Address: Tranemosevej 8, Hedehusene, in a nature park close to Roskilde and Høje Taastrup.
The Experience: Opera Hedeland is Denmark’s largest amphitheater, located outdoors in the middle of beautiful nature. As an audience member, you will have a beautiful view of the stage, lake, and surrounding landscape.
Comfort: Despite being outdoors, we provide comfortable chairs for all audience members. Feel free to bring a blanket and clothing suitable for the weather.
Food and Drink: Picnic baskets will be available for sale during the winter of 2025 and can be ordered in advance of the performance. You can also buy wine, water, and coffee in the evening. It is also possible to bring your own delicacies from home, which can be enjoyed in our picnic area.
Price: From DKK 305 (before discount) and from DKK 157 for young people under the age of 26 (excluding Ticketmaster fee).
